SAP SERVICE OPS PRINCIPAL

We are looking for a talented (Hybrid) SAP Service OPS Principal to join our team specializing for our BUSINESS Transformation Unit, in Indianapolis, IN.

Job Summary:

Assess and apply new solution designs against defined architecture strategies, principles, policies and standards in alignment with the enterprise architecture strategies. Defines new architecture solutions where needs are identified. Where current enterprise strategies and principles do not meet needs, drive changes back to the enterprise. Defines complex application and solution designs for specific systems in coordination with project teams.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: 

• Designing Modular, Scalable Systems: You’ll define the component breakdown of complex systems, allocate functions to each part, and establish seamless interfaces—ensuring robust, scalable architecture that supports business growth.
• Building Reusable Architecture Standards: By developing design patterns and configurations that serve as reusable building blocks, you’ll accelerate solution delivery and promote consistency across the enterprise.
• Delivering Fit-for-Purpose Solutions: Collaborating with project and product teams, you’ll translate requested capabilities into tailored solutions that meet business, technical, and compliance requirements.
• Driving Strategic Investment Decisions: Your cost/benefit analyses will guide future-state capability planning, helping the organization invest wisely in technologies that deliver long-term value.
• Establishing Governance for Change: You’ll lead the creation of architectural principles that govern solution decisions, enabling the organization to manage change effectively and sustainably.
• Ensuring Compliance and Performance: Through rigorous design audits and performance monitoring, you’ll ensure that solutions align with architectural standards and avoid introducing system inefficiencies.
• Shaping the Enterprise’s Future Architecture: Working with stakeholders and Functional Excellence teams, you’ll apply strategic insights to develop roadmaps that guide the organization toward its desired future state.
• Influencing Industry and Mentoring Talent: By engaging with industry experts and mentoring junior architects, you’ll elevate the organization’s architectural maturity and contribute to thought leadership in the field.

To be successful in this role you will need the following: 

• SAP S/4HANA Expertise: You must bring deep hands-on experience and certification in the SAP S/4HANA Service module, ideally with Advanced Service Execution. Additional experience in SAP PS (Project Systems) and other modules will set you apart.
• Integration Skills Across Platforms: Success will require working knowledge of non-SAP system integrations, especially using Mulesoft, OData, APIs, or other middleware tools to ensure seamless data flow and system interoperability.
• Industry Experience: Proven Solution Architect experience in Automotive, Manufacturing, Retail, or Distribution industries is essential, particularly with a focus on global service processes and compliance.
• Stakeholder Management & Influence: You’ll need to anticipate and balance the needs of diverse stakeholders—technical teams, business leaders, and external partners—while using persuasive communication to gain alignment and commitment.
• Collaborative Leadership: Building strong partnerships across cross-functional teams will be key to co-creating solutions that meet shared objectives and drive business value.
• Strategic Communication: You must be able to tailor your messaging to different audiences, ensuring clarity and engagement whether you're presenting to executives or guiding technical teams.
• Decision-Making Agility: Making timely, high-quality decisions will be critical, especially when navigating complex solution trade-offs or managing risks in fast-paced environments.
• Change Management Expertise: Applying structured change management practices will help you lead teams through transformation, ensuring adoption and sustainability of new systems and processes.
