Description
North Florida Surgeons Emerald ENT is a multi service ENT practice. We provide ENT services, Audiology and Allergy. We have a well-known & highly respected reputation in Santa Rosa Beach and we are now expanding to Panama City Beach. Our work week is Monday – Friday beginning at 7:30am. We are closed nights, weekends and National Holidays. Our team of clinicians and staff work together to focus on comprehensive and quality care for each patient. Our Practice is looking for a dedicated hard-working Front Desk associate/Office Specialist to join our team! Must have a positive disposition, have high level of organizational skills, and be willing to work in a busy medical office.
Duties to include:
- Answer phones and welcome patients into practice
- Schedules appointments with appropriate providers as needed
- Works on Referral lists and scheduling tasks
- Check in and check out
- Collection of monies owed to account
- Reviews/verifies insurance for participation by our providers
- Retrieves all required referral/authorizations to secure the financial stability of the Practice
- Scans records daily in appropriate sections of patient charts and keeps charts in proper order
- Maintains confidentiality, complies with HIPPA requirements at all times
- Assist in care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies
- Prepares daily bank deposits as needed
- Retrieves medical records as needed from other facilities
- Performs insurance verification for office visits, calculates out of pocket costs for patients, and notifies patient of cost prior to visit
Requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures. Knowledge of English grammar, spelling and punctuation to type simple correspondence.
- Skill in using computer programs and applications. Ability to sort and file materials by alphabetic or numeric system. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
Education: High school graduation or GED.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a medical office environment preferred. Must have knowledge of medical terminology and HIPPA regulations. EMR experience a must but Athena experience preferred.
Environmental/Working Conditions: Work is performed in our Practice locations. This is a team environment and involves daily contact with patients, coworkers, providers and management.
