About the role

The Kerry Field Service Technician provides prompt, high quality support of Kerry owned equipment.  Reporting to the Senior Equipment Field Service Manager, the Technician duties include the installation, maintenance, and repair of related shaver/blenders and refrigerated equipment both on customer premises or at the technician’s base location, as needed.

Key responsibilities

 

 

Essential Actions and Responsibilities:

  • Review work orders from Equipment Admin that have FST errors and resolve with corrective actions
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on a regular basis for all assigned company equipment
  • Perform regional equipment trainings for sales and service personnel
  • Respond in a timely fashion to assigned repair requests, including emergency and after-hours repair calls when necessary. Complete and submit all necessary documentation within management guidelines.
  • Install company equipment and train customer management, or designated personnel, on the proper use, maintenance, and cleaning of the equipment. 
  • Handle equipment installs, replacements or removals while completing and submit all necessary documentation within management guidelines and return equipment
  • Support sales team and initiatives
  • Maintain parts and equipment inventories ensuring management directed stock levels are maintained. Complete parts and equipment physical inventories as directed
  • Maintain hand tools, equipment, and service van to ensure safe operation and promote a professional appearance.  Responsible for the service, maintenance, inspections, and cleaning of Kerry owned service vehicle within company guidelines.
  • Establish strong relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction levels are maintained.  Respond to all requests, including voice and email messages, within management guidelines.
  • Travel outside the assigned territory to assist in the installation, repair, or maintenance of equipment, as needed.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule as occasional nights, weekends and overnight travel may be required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and skills

Qualifications

  • High School or Technical/Trade School Diploma.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a related field.
  • Refrigerated equipment training/experience (preferred)
  • Three years’ experience in air conditioning or refrigeration related repair is a plus (preferred)
  • HVACR License and E.P.A. universal refrigerant certification is a plus (preferred)
  • Solid mechanical ability and knowledge of electrical wiring and components, plumbing, and related safety measures/ codes.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot in both mechanical and electrical systems, think independently, and be self-motivated.
  • Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
