Job Description:

 

1. Responsible for translating business and user requirements into design solutions for end-users and other stakeholders;
2. Propose pragmatic solutions consistent with industry best practices and user expectations while balancing technical, data, and schedule constraints;
3. Provide UI design mockups, specifications, and interactive prototypes to the engineering team for feature/product development for Mobile, Tablet, and Web platforms;
4. Provide design inputs on the matters of UX/UI, Visual, and Interaction Design throughout the product development life cycle;      
5. Participate in various UX activities, including user research, usability tests, user-flow diagrams, wireframes, high and low-fidelity prototypes, and other deliverables as required for product development;
6. Design storyboards, wireframes, low/high fidelity designs/prototypes while balancing schedule constraints, technical and story specifications, and user feedback;
7. Plan, operate, and collaborate with the design, product, and engineering team for implementation in an agile-based cycle product design environment; incorporate VOC and feedback into designs;
8. Work with internal cross-functional teams ranging from Product, Customer Experience, Technology, and Sales from within the eCommerce team and colleagues from the greater MilliporeSigma organization, as needed;
9. Interact with a customer base of Scientists, Lab Managers, and Principal Investigators and incorporate their feedback for feature/product development; and
10. Test designs with end users to validate and iterate to improve the acceptance and usability of the application.

 

Job requirements:

 

Employer requires a Master of Science in Digital Arts or a closely related field and at least one (1) year of work experience in any occupation as a user experience (UX) designer. In addition, the Employer requires the following:

 

1. Demonstrated ability designing user interfaces (UI) gained through one (1) year of work experience;
2. Demonstrated knowledge of visual design gained through one (1) year of work experience; and
3. Demonstrated ability working with user research and usability testing gained through one (1) year of work experience.

 

All years of experience may be gained concurrently.

 

Please note that telecommuting is available but the individual must reside in the St. Louis, MO region, as in-office presence is required at least three (3) days per week.

 

20% domestic travel and 20% international travel is required per year.
