Position:        Cage Cashier

Department:  Cage

 

Job Summary:   Handles all transactions, including currency, coin and money equivalents for both customers and employees.

 

Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to):

 

1. Balances assigned bank accurately.
2. Makes exchanges for customers of currency, coins, and money equivalents in a courteous and timely manner.
3. Cashes travelers’ checks for currency.
4. Redeems scripts, coupons, and receipts for currency.
5. Staffs a Jackpot/Fill Station.
6. Processes cash, chip, and coin transactions, cashes checks, and disperses gift certificates.
7. Processes credit card cash transactions.
8. Receives and issues dealer tokes.
9. Identifies and resolves discrepancies.
10. Processes personal checks for players.
11. Prepares accurate and thorough departmental records and reports.
12. Assists other cashiers in the cage, as assigned.
13. Provides courteous service and is cordial to employees and guests.
14. Maintains a consistent, regular attendance record.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge Skills, and Abilities:

 

1. Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including skill to perform the varied transactions cited above.
2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers.
3. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
4. Ability to accurately handle and count money as well as make change.
5. Ability to pass a math test (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
6. Ability to handle guest confrontations
7. Ability to work in a smoking environment.
8. Ability to walk and stand for 100% of shift.
9. Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, reach, twist, and grip throughout shift.
10. Ability to lift forty (40) pounds at a time.
11. Ability to adapt well to the casino environment that involves large numbers of people as well as loud and continuous high noise levels.
12. Ability to psychologically handle the concept of persons occupying an establishment for the purpose of gambling, drinking, eating, and smoking for long periods of time.

 

Mandatory Requirements:

 

1. Six months money handling experience, including operation of 10-key machine
2. High school diploma or GED.
3. Must have a track record of integrity and confidentiality.
4. Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime as needed.
5. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
6. Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.

 

Preferred Requirements:

 

1. Knowledge of tribal policies and procedures and Arizona Gaming rules and regulations.
2. Knowledge of a wide variety of games.
3. Standard computer knowledge (computer proficiency with hardware and software).
