We have an immediate PRN opening for a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for our pain clinic in Denver, CO. Our nurses play a critical role in taking care of our patients, ensuring their safety and well-being during our procedure process. 

 

1. Evaluating patients' medical history, physical condition, and understanding their needs and concerns.

2. Provides safe quality care to patients by utilizing the nursing process and nursing diagnosis in a timely manner. Coordinates nursing interventions to enhance achievement of expected outcomes and to ensure readiness for discharge.

3. Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.

4. Use of specialized clinical and procedure equipment. 

5. Observes and documents patients’ medical and educational needs to assist in patient assessment and care. 

6. Consistently follows the Nursing Plan of Care for the patient.

7. Actively participates in timeouts by confirming patient identification, correct procedure, side/site, etc.  

8. Participates and maintains safety and dignity of patient at all times.  

9. Effectively communicates with all providers and staff members.

10. Accurately monitor, record, and report on patients’ medical information and vital signs.

11. Instruct individuals, families and other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and develop health improvement programs.

12. Pre-Procedure Preparation - gathers necessary supplies, positions and prepares patients, as well as explains the   

       procedure to them and their families.

13.   Procedure Assistance - assists the healthcare team during the procedure, including monitoring vital signs, administering 

       medications, and ensuring a safe environment.

14.   Post-Procedure Care - Provides ongoing monitoring, pain management, and wound care, as well as educating patients 

       on post-procedure instructions.

15. Perform chart review on daily basis to ensure completeness and accuracy of patient documentation.

16. Takes part in pre and post-procedure phone calls and communicates any problems to the appropriate person.

17. Maintains competencies to function in RN role.

18. Expertise in safety principles, asepsis, sterile technique and universal precautions.

19. Driving may be required when working in clinic roles.

20. Maintains patient confidentiality (HIPAA)

Requirements

Licenses & Certifications:

1. Current state registration as a Registered Nurse.

2. BLS certified or obtain certification within three months of hire. ACLS certification or obtain certification within the first year of hire.


Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications:

1. High School diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program. 

2. Previous related experience preferred. 

3. Experience with EMR (NextGen/ECW) preferred.

4. Ability to independently apply skills and job knowledge with supervision.

5. Strong organizational, judgment, communication and analytical skills; sometimes under pressure.   

6. Ability to multi-task and perform multiple priorities.  

7. Cooperative and professional behavior toward patients, peers, providers, management and visitors.

8. Awareness of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).

9. Ability to promote favorable facility image with patients, providers, insurance companies and general public.

10. Ability to independently make decisions and solve problems; ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

11. Evidence of leadership qualities. The ability to contribute in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.

12. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.  


Salary Description $35/hour to $42/hour (depending on experience)
