The Position 

As a Senior Scrum Master, you'll be at the forefront of our IT agile delivery teams, leading and supporting them to achieve greatness. You'll facilitate team meetings, collaborate with global Product Owners, and mentor other Scrum Masters to advance Agile practices and promote a productive and  agile team environment 

 

Relationships 

Reporting directly to the Head of IT in our Boston hub, you'll work closely with Release Train Engineers, Delivery Leads, Product Management, and System Architects to ensure our teams are aligned and working towards our project and business goals. 

As a key member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to facilitate cross-team collaboration, drive Agile quality practices, and provide overall leadership for our Agile teams. You'll also work with external vendors to define and agree on operating models, governance, and delivery processes. 

 

Essential Functions 

  • Facilitate the Agile team to efficient delivery 
  • Leading Agile / Scrum teams in addition to facilitating team meetings (Daily Stand-up calls, PI Plannings, Grooming sessions, retrospectives, etc. 
  • Coaching and leadership 
  • Keep track of and help solve impediments and escalate if necessary 
  • Help the Agile team manage their progress via transparent backlog and board overview Help the Agile team and other roles prepare and align expectations before and during events 
  • Drive Agile teams, vendors and customers in the Novo Nordisk Agile way of working including Agile Delivery Model, Azure DevOps, Agile QMS and Agile Sourcing 
  • Change ambassador to drive the learning culture and Agile mindset in Novo Nordisk 
  • Budgeting and vendor management 

 

Physical Requirements 

Potential global scope depending on the situation and organization the Scrum Master is supporting, with direct functional influence on internal and external stakeholders. Approximately 10% overnight travel. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience required 
  • Certified Advanced Scrum Master preferred 
  • Experience in Lean-Agile methodologies 
  • Experience with technical IT delivery as Developer, Tester or similar preferred 
  • Understanding of team dynamics and facilitation 
  • Practical experience with Agile tools or techniques 
  • Capable of handling a co-located team 
  • Understand the Agile mindset and culture
