Our client is a technology solutions company. They are seeking a highly experienced Accounting leader (15+ years experience in accounting) to act as Head of Accounting and lead a team of 10+. Location:
This is a fully remote position, though we are seeking candidates who are available during our regular business hours in Eastern, Central, or Mountain time zones. This role will travel monthly to the southeast US for the first few months, and a few times per year after getting settled.
Job Description
- Oversee a team of direct and indirect reports, in maintaining the general ledger and all of the Company’s financial books and records.
- Lead revenue accounting, partner with other departments, and be a thought leader
- Drive the team to identify, implement and oversee the execution of necessary financial processes, policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and all applicable tax laws.
- Oversee and drive all monthly, quarterly, and annual closing/consolidation processes and ensure that all financial statements and reporting are timely, accurate, and in accordance with US GAAP.
- Primary contributor to budget and re-forecast process
- Prepare monthly internal financial operating reports and variance analysis
- Responsible for hiring and training new team members and growing the team according to the needs of the Company and for developing team members, providing professional guidance and coaching to ensure proper succession planning.
- Responsible for the oversight and integration of changes in processes, products and product pricing into the accounting systems and accounting cycle.
- Serves as the primary focal point for the development and integration of accounting controls, new and improved systems, and new accounting processes and procedures.
- Serves as the focal point for integrating new acquisitions into the accounting process and for preparation and management of audit committee meetings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA highly preferred
- Experience with operational/revenue accounting required.
- System implementation experience highly preferred
- Public accounting experience in audit, assurance or accounting consulting or minimum 10 years of experience in leadership accounting or financial role for medium to large company.
- Strong coach that has experience leading teams
- Strong accounting and finance knowledge and experience (month/year-end close, general ledger, financial systems, financial reporting, consolidations, reconciliations, cash flow modeling, etc.)
