Plant Manager Assistant
A. Job Identification
Manage all aspects of operations for assigned plant which includes the safety and the well being of all employees and visitors. Maintain efficient manufacturing and delivery of quality concrete. This position reports to the Operations Manager.
B. Essential Job Functions
- Run the plant as efficiently as possible.
- Assist dispatch personnel for order efficiency and coordination.
- Coordinate driver show-up times according to the orders.
- Coordinate cement tanker pickup and delivery.
- Coordinate with Assistant Operations Manager on slag and c-ash deliveries.
- Communicate with the Operations Manager and other Plant Managers daily.
- Track and record daily inventory.
- Physically check all incoming inventory.
- Reinforce safety policies and rules.
- Oversee shop maintenance schedule.
- Maintain accurate attendance and tardy records.
- Complete employee written warning notices timely. Maintain written warning notices. A copy of each written warning is also sent to the Human Resource Manager, Safety Manager and Operations Manager.
- Complete employee vacations request forms to be sent to the Human Resource Dept. for verification of eligibility and approval.
- Assist daily with plant start up and drain down.
- Verify moisture checks are performed and logged by dispatch personnel after the first 100 yards are shipped daily
- Maintain fuel deliveries and inventory.
- Ensure all C.O.D. monies are collected and accounted for.
- Communicate with upper management and all subordinate employees.
C. Job Requirements
- Must be able to take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and management.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to do simple math, such as addition and subtraction.
- Must have and maintain a valid Georgia drivers’ license.
- Must maintain driving record in accordance with State regulations and company policy.
- Must be able to deal with co-workers and customers in a diplomatic, manner in varied stressful situations.
- Must be able to operate various types vehicles found around a concrete plant and perform tasks in a safe manner and observe all safety requirements and policies.
D. Physical Demands
- Requires you walk, stand, and sit.
- Requires use of hands and fingers to handle and feel.
- Required to climb, balance, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Requires use of hearing and smell.
- Requires ability to lift up to 90 pounds.
- Requires ability to identify and distinguish colors visually.
- Requires peripheral vision with the ability to observe an area they can be seen up and down or left and right while eyes are fixed at a given point.
- Requires depth perception which includes three-dimensional vision ability to judge distance and spatial relationships.
E. Environmental Conditions
- Weather conditions such as temperature, moisture and other conditions have a significant impact on the job. This must be tolerated, with or without reasonable accommodations, being exposed frequently to extreme weather conditions.
- There are high noise levels and significant vibration associated with this position. This may be caused by the truck, construction equipment and jobsite noise.
- There are other physical hazards that endanger life, health or bodily injury, such as proximity to moving, mechanical parts, falls, environmental conditions, moving equipment and other hazards.
- The is also exposure to cement, lime, concrete admixtures, dust, diesel fuel and other substances which may be toxic, cause burns or be explosive.
