Job Duties
Work with University administrators, managers, and end-users to conduct business analysis of requirements and evaluate alternatives and determine feasibility and levels of automation.
Support, plan, and manage projects and resources for development and enhancement of financial information systems and modules.
Explore vendor enhancements for the ERP and evaluate solutions for utilization within enterprise systems at the University.
Review, and remain abreast of, documented requirements and specifications of client’s business processes.
Support and lead implementations of innovative solutions.
Serve as a liaison and strategic partner with University administrators, managers, end-users, software vendors, and other areas in OIT.
Take the initiative to find answers independently.
Aid in the design, development, testing, and implementation of new and/or revised applications.
Collaborate with other technical specialists and/or end-users to ensure information system design and support operations comply with well-established standards.
Assist in the development of project plans; plan, coordinate, and monitor project accomplishments and milestones.
Provide technical presentations and specialized training when required.
Prepare or assist in the preparation of the system and user documentation.
Communicate verbally and in writing with both professional and technical staff.
Dependable (attendance and punctuality) and manages time effectively and efficiently.
Follows established safety practices or corrects unsafe practices on the job.
Weekly meetings with the staff to identify goals and progress.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Student and Business Systems Manager or the Director of Enterprise Applications.
Minimum Qualifications
Technical: Technical: In-depth hands-on experience utilizing and training end-users on automated student and financial accounting systems. Considerable knowledge and skill with the use of a Windows personal computer and the Microsoft Office productivity suite. Strong analytical skills; ability to meet with customers, analyze requirements, provide training based on those requirements and ability to write thorough documentation. Thorough understanding of basic problem determination and resolution techniques. Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed analysis of business problems and identify effective solutions. Knowledge of software release and configuration management practices and procedures. General knowledge of practices and principles relating to Enterprise Information system security administration. Familiarity with project management methodology.
Personal/Personality: Must have experience interacting with other people in a customer-oriented service manner. Having good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills is essential. Must be able to work in a collaborative, team environment. Must be a "self-starter" and be able to proactively identify problems (or potential problems) and propose solutions. Initiative and creativity are important qualities to make this position successful. Ability to create and maintain customer satisfaction and express conclusions in a clear, technically sound manner on matters associated with information technology. Participate in collaborative initiatives which foster the mutual exchange of knowledge and expertise.
Additional Considerations
Demonstrated experience with Ellucian Colleague strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience with any Higher Education (ERP) other than Ellucian Colleague.
Experience with Workday HCM and Finance and Workday Student.
Experience with ERP implementations.
Experience with Project Management (e.g., Waterfall, Agile)
Experience with Enterprise – level Applications that integrate with Higher-Ed ERP Systems.
Experience following System Development Life Cycle and iterative processes.
Experience in the coordination and delivery of computing services and technology in an academic environment.
Technical training/train-the-trainer certification or demonstrated training preferred.
