About the role

Nuveen Business Management

The Business Management team operates under the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for business management activities and strategic project support for Nuveen. The team provides counsel to senior leadership of Nuveen and manages cross-functional initiatives. Responsibilities of the team include providing thought leadership for strategic decisions, translating strategy into actionable plans, partnering with business units to manage large-scale programs, developing hypotheses and conducting analyses, synthesizing complex information, and communicating recommendations.




Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work closely with stakeholders across functions – such as Sales, Marketing, Investments, Finance, Operations, Technology and Communications – to deliver strategic initiatives
  • Prepare executive-level presentations for Nuveen and TIAA leaders and Board members
  • Participate in planning meetings in support of various projects and initiatives
  • Turn ideas into business cases and help executives prioritize

Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred

Work Experience

  • 3+ Years Required; 5+ Years Preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work


Career Level

Required:

  • 3+ years in financial services, ideally in asset management or consulting
  • Microsoft Office experience

Preferred:

  • University Degree
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
  • Ability to think critically and solve ambiguous challenges
  • Strong relationship management skills with experience supporting senior executives / stakeholders
  • Ability to deliver under pressure, provide insights in short timeframes and be detail oriented
  • Team oriented, collaborative, and collegial style
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial concepts

Base Pay Range: $70,000/yr - $115,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
