About the role

DIRECTV is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Sr. Director of Product Marketing to lead our marketing efforts to sell DIRECTV without a satellite to our satellite and U-verse base. The role will be responsible for owning migrations across the DIRECTV product family, that maximize the long-term value of these legacy subscribers (satellite and U-verse). This individual will collaborate with all channel partners to drive and accelerate migrations to internet-delivered products. Key responsibilities include identifying high-value migration opportunities, aligning strategies with finance, acquisition, and retention teams, and ensuring seamless execution in partnership with IT and product delivery.

Additionally, this role will lead the development and implementation of future migration strategies that optimize offers, marketing, and billing/CX to maximize the volume and margin of migrated subscribers. The role will also oversee marketing tests across various channels to maximize incremental migrations and work closely with analytics to establish reporting frameworks and provide regular updates to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of creating compelling financial analysis, project managing internal stakeholders, market messaging, conducting competitive analysis, and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize sales performance. This position plays a crucial role in shaping our product positioning, go-to-market strategies, and overall marketing direction.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Identify and market to cohorts of legacy satellite and U-verse customers that would benefit from moving to a more modern internet-delivered product.
  • Stakeholder manage teams across IT, product, retention, call centers, finance, and acquisition to drive incremental growth through customer migrations to modern internet deliver products.
  • Be solely responsible for achieving channel specific volumes while maximizing enterprise value.
  • Run financial models to analyze targeted cohorts where migrations to modern products is most profitable.
  • Lead and manage a team of product marketing professionals, providing strategic guidance and mentorship.
  • Oversee the end-to-end migration journey, ensuring IT enablement, financial profitability, marketing alignment, and a seamless customer experience while resolving customer pain points and friction.
  • Create and refine messaging and value propositions that resonate with internal subscribers and differentiate the benefits of legacy products vs new growth products.
  • Conduct in-depth competitive analysis to identify best practices and product positioning vs other vMVPDs.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies across internal channels and business units.
  • Use data to drive results and make enterprise value decisions.
  • Collaborate with base management strategy, product management, sales, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on cohort level strategies.
  • Oversee the development of marketing collateral, including product sheets, whitepapers, case studies, and presentations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of product and IT launches, ensuring coordinated efforts across all marketing channels.
  • Develop and manage marketing budgets, allocating resources effectively to maximize ROI.
  • Present marketing strategies, performance metrics, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform marketing strategies.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and industry influencers.
  • Drive thought leadership initiatives to establish and maintain the company's position as an industry leader.
  • Collaborate with digital marketing teams to optimize online presence and lead generation efforts.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all marketing materials and communications.

What you’ll need to be successful:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred; MBA a plus.
  • 7 – 10 years of experience in product marketing or related roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position, and 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive business growth.
  • Strong understanding of B2C marketing principles and best practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable marketing insights.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex product features and benefits to various audiences.
