Job Summary
 

Reporting to the Director of Academics, the Assistant Director of Travel Study and Alumni Relations will be responsible for overseeing the travel study programs of the University of Chicago Graham School and developing and managing Alumni Relations for its non-credit programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and administers travel study programs, such as the Graham School’s longstanding Study in Oxford seminars and spring break in Greece trip in partnership with international partners, including managing program curriculum, policies, procedures, performance, and operations.  
  • Acts as trip leader and staff representative on travel study trips. Both domestic and international travel will be required. 
  • Coordinates with staff, instructors, and other program stakeholders to enhance current travel study programs and creates new travel programs, both domestic and international.      
  • Plans and executes travel in collaboration with external partners and the Graham School team, including planning seminar topics and tutors, lectures, special outings, daily schedule, promotion of the program, and communication with participants.       
  • Plans and hosts pre-trip events and annual reunions of travel alumni.     
  • Monitors annual budgets and makes recommendations for adjustments within programs as necessary.     
  • Partners with marketing team in the creation and review of website copy, brochures, emails, and other promotional marketing material for the travel study program.  
  • Designs and shepherds a comprehensive non-credit alumni engagement strategy to engage in-person and online communities.
  • Develops a calendar of outreach and activities.   
  • In partnership with Graham Events Manager, plans and manages alumni-focused events to promote continued alumni engagement with the Graham School. 
  • Develops and implements an alumni communications plan, potentially using the new Noodle platform to increase engagement. Maintains updated alumni contact records.   
  • Advises alumni on further course and extra-curricular opportunities at the Graham School. 
  • Assists in leading and coordinating the planning, organization, and management of events, programs, and services designed to cultivate and maintain ties between the University of Chicago and key constituent groups. May assist in or individually create a marketing plan to maximize participation and engagement of alumni, parents, and friends.
  • Has a deep understanding of strategic planning, data management, the creation and tracking of metrics, and the creation and implementation of new constituent relations programs worldwide. Measures, tracks, and reports participation and success of initiatives.
  • Performs other related work as needed. 


Minimum Qualifications
 

Education:

Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
