You.Platinum Technologies is seeking a Senior Cyber Security to be responsible for ensuring the security and compliance of government systems by overseeing cybersecurity assessments, penetration testing, and documentation updates. This role requires a deep understanding of cybersecurity practices, government security standards, and the ability to manage complex security-related tasks across multiple systems.
What you get to do.•Lead on ensuring all required documentation updates are completed prior to independent assessments, meeting the assessor’s deadlines.•Generate and manage schedules for assessment interviews, ensuring the availability of appropriate subject matter experts.•Identify and collect artifacts demonstrating the implementation of security controls in advance of assessments to minimize the number of artifacts required during the assessment.•Provide artifacts that demonstrate the correct implementation of security controls as requested by the Government during assessments.•Assist with defining the scope of penetration testing to account for system architecture changes, new functionalities, and evolving threat landscapes.•Prepare and review Rules of Engagement for penetration testing to ensure safe and effective testing practices.•Assist in preparing for cybersecurity exercises and ensure the scope of testing considers the current system environment and policies.•Review assessment findings, draft remediation recommendations, and provide guidance to system owners on effective remediation strategies.•Track and report the remediation status of vulnerabilities detected during scans, ensuring compliance with federal requirements.•Prepare briefing materials and required post-assessment documentation for authorizing officials, supporting decisions related to system authorization to operate.•Update the Risk Assessment Report, providing a comprehensive assessment of the system's security posture and potential risk mitigations.•Ensure that all assessment-related documentation and artifacts are updated in the mandated repository for assessment closeout.•Review system access accounts, ensuring compliance with identification, authorization, and access control policies.•Validate remote access accounts, ensuring they meet remote access policies.•Validate and report security baseline compliance for system endpoints and ensure the system inventory accurately reflects connected endpoints.•Recommend updates to system policies and procedures in response to mandated changes in government IT security requirements.•Research emerging threats to assess their potential impact on system security and provide recommendations for managing those threats.•Review system network configurations to ensure compliance with security requirements and mitigate unacceptable risks.
Required Skills:•Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field•Minimum eight (8) years of experience.•Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.•Extensive experience in cybersecurity, specifically within government or highly regulated environments. Experience in conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.•Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent.•Proficiency with common cybersecurity tools used in government environments, including but not limited to Splunk, Tenable, HBSS, ACAS, and Wireshark (PCAP).•Proficiency performing dynamic and static code analysis utilizing tools such as Sonarqube or Prisma cloud. •Strong understanding of government cybersecurity policies, including those from. •Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
