JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Professional Revenue is responsible for the general management of the organization's Faculty Practice Professional Revenue Department. This includes all day to day operations, quality and performance improvement planning and project execution. The Director of Professional Revenue also acts as a key resource for Faculty Practice leadership and actively participates in group level management activities. The Professional Revenue Department provides complete professional billing office services to the organization's Faculty Practice and ancillary service areas including charge processing and accounts receivable management, system support and analytics, coding services, provider coding education, provider enrollment and support with adherence to regulatory requirements. The Director of Professional Revenue is a member of the organization's organizational finance team and represents the professional revenue cycle across a broad array of constituents. There are over 90 staff members in PRD, working with physicians and staff in over 45 practice locations. Over 800,000 patient visits occur annually in these sites, generating over $480,000,000 in gross revenue and over $207,000,000 in collections. This position is also the primary administrative liaison for the Faculty Practice with external payers, managed care and insurance companies regarding operational issues. Within the organization, this individual works actively with Accounting, Compliance, Revenue Management and Information Services on revenue issues.
EDUCATION:
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a Master's Degree with an emphasis in health care, business or finance.
EXPERIENCE:
The incumbent should have at least seven years of progressive experience in managing the revenue cycle for a multi-specialty physician group. Experience with Provider Based billing and associated organizational revenue implications is strongly desired.
