Job Duties: The following are examples of work performed; however, the list is not comprehensive. This position requires the successful applicant to possess the ability to supervise and manage people along with the requirement of maintaining extensive communication and coordination of division of the following duties with the existing Managing Court Reporter. This position serves as a full-time reporter covering a division or daily hearings in addition to the managing court reporter duties. This is a highly responsible position that assigns work to all court reporters on a weekly basis and also assigns work to any reporter who is not working in their assigned division; supervises transcriptionist position(s); coordinates leave time to ensure court coverage; approves payroll on a bi-weekly basis; monitors transcript preparation and extension requests; conducts meetings monthly or as necessitated to share information with all reporters; conducts interviews and makes hiring recommendations; prepares progress reports/evaluations; responds to a variety of requests from judges, attorneys, inmates, and the general public regarding transcript preparation availability and process, and other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and MUST have completed formal training in machine shorthand or voice writing program. Applicant MUST possess a Kansas Certified Reporter CCR certificate or equivalent.
