Job Description

The Assistant Director of Student Success Services is responsible for leading the activities and operations of the student re-engagement efforts, coordinating the onboarding and on-going professional development for staff/faculty serving in student care team roles, assisting in the ongoing administration and maintenance of the University's student success management tools, and providing triage support for complex student success cases. The Assistant Director of Student Success Services collaborates with the Division of Student Success and Engagement Leadership team and works across all divisions at the University to implement systems, processes, and procedures that support overall student success and the institution’s retention and completion initiatives/metrics.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree plus one (1) year of experience in direct student support, enrollment or advising services OR Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years of experience in direct student support, enrollment or advising services.

  • Demonstrated commitment to supporting students and their success.

  • Demonstrated excellence in written, oral, and interpersonal communication.

  • Proven problem-solving and innovation skills.

  • Experience designing and articulating processes and systems to guide work of self and others.

  • Ability to work independently in unique situations and apply novel solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize new systems and software platforms.

  • Commitment to advancing a diverse, equitable and inclusive working and learning environment.

Preferred Qualification 

  • Professional experience in direct student support, enrollment or advising services in a higher education setting.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of college student development theories and high-impact student success practices.

  • Previous experience working with re-engagement/recruit-back campaigns.

  • Previous experience utilizing student success management systems (e.g. EAB Starfish and/or Navigate360, Workday).

Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.
