What You Will Do:

Team Leader – Manufacturing Operations


As a Team Leader, you will play a critical role in supporting RTX’s commitment to operational excellence, product integrity, and customer satisfaction. Your duties will be to oversee daily production within an assigned manufacturing cell, ensuring aircraft components are processed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with RTX quality and regulatory standards. This position drives performance, supports continuous improvement, and develops talent in alignment with RTX values and CORE operating principles.

  • Lead cell operations to deliver on safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets consistent with RTX performance commitments.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging CORE methodologies and engaging employees in problem‑solving and waste‑reduction activities.
  • Serve as the cell’s primary driver of Environmental, Health & Safety compliance, ensuring adherence to RTX standards and governing regulations.
  • Coordinate day‑to‑day workflow across machining, inspection, welding, material preparation, and finishing processes.
  • Execute and manage production schedules; oversee labor allocation, daily assignments, and overtime planning.
  • Monitor work in process, identify constraints, and implement corrective actions to maintain steady flow and on‑time delivery.
  • Train and develop team members, ensuring skill readiness, cross‑training, and alignment with RTX competency expectations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions per company policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and communicate technical specifications, drawings, and job orders to ensure accurate execution of work.
  • Ensure all Standard Work, Operating Procedures, and work instructions are followed consistently.
  • Partner with peer supervisors and cross‑functional teams to maintain alignment, resolve issues, and support shared objectives.
  • Lead weekly toolbox meetings to reinforce safety, communicate priorities, and drive operational clarity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and audit‑ready work environment, supporting RTX’s culture of compliance and operational excellence.
  • Serve as acting supervisor during the Business Unit Manager’s absence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to solve practical problems and manage multiple operational variables.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, safety requirements, and procedural guidelines.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing or operations with demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Experience working within an FAA repair station environment.
  • Background in leading skilled technicians in production, repair, or refurbishment operations.
  • Experience using SAP and Solumina systems.
  • A&P certificate or eligibility for an FAA repairman’s certificate.
