What You Will Do:
This Associate Director role for Military DPHM (Diagnostic Prognostic Health Management) is an opportunity to lead a high performing team that designs, implements and supports Diagnostic & Prognostic capabilities for all military engine programs to:
- Strengthen P&W product dependability in support of our Military Customers and Aftermarket Services
- Enhance operational engine dependability with on-board fault recognition and accommodation as well as offboard analysis and alerting
- Drive the intelligent engine concept to reality
- Reduce ownership cost of P&W products by enabling data driven root cause and corrective actions for engine systems issues, timely alerts, usage-based remaining life projections and rapid response to field support issues
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for all military DPHM – both in-service and advanced programs
- Manage staffing, budget, and talent development for a team of 25+ PW Connecticut engineers
- Manage the development, implementation and support of military contract requirements for Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) programs
- Guide the 5 C’s for military engine DPHM Agile efforts: Communication, Collaboration, Customer Focus, Continuous Improvement, and Courage
- Leadership for the Discipline’s military Technology Development
- Ownership of CORE Improvement Targets (IT’s) for military engines DPHM
- Drive continuous process and documentation improvements to improve efficiency/effectivity of team operations to meet all Quality & Sustainability needs
- Travel up to 5%
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
- 12 years of engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 10 with an advanced degree
- U.S. government issued security clearance is required
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- U.S. government issued security clearance is preferred or willingness to obtain clearance
- Experience working in Prognostics & Health Management of turbine engines
- Practice in root-cause analysis/data analysis/problem solving
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced analytics applied to real-world sensor data, time series analysis, machine learning methods and life prediction / time-to-event estimation
- Familiarity with military engine programs
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing tools and methods as well as AI/ML methods
- System integration experience
- Experience leading Agile processes
- Experience in hardware/software risk reduction and capability validation efforts
