About the role

Job Overview

As a member of our Engineering Services Team, you will help create drawing packages for our utility customers. As a Station Designer I, you will apply your technical and functional knowledge in the creation of drawings such as station details, and cable schedules. You will also support drafting tasks during peak load times.

A Day In The Life

  • Yellow-line station details to match the station layouts, elevations, and cable schedules to ensure drawing quality
  • Create cable schedules from cable layouts and conduit plans drawings
  • Create project specific vendor drawings using the project scope and/or one line diagram
  • Manage status of project completion (% complete) and update associated documents
  • Calculate cable lengths for all exterior cables/wires
  • Calculate conduit fill
  • Working knowledge of physical details (connections, grounding, conduit, etc.)
  • Specify Station (Physical) materials for projects & BOM creation
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other OEC firms and clients associated with on-going projects
  • Assist with drafting support during peak load times

What will help you thrive in this role?

  • Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • Direct technical experience in a similar field/position strongly preferred
  • Ability to read physical drawings
  • Extensive knowledge of MS office suite
  • Knowledge of structures and assembly drawings
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to multitask given projects based on deadlines
  • Knowledge of CAD software to include AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Knowledge of markup drawings using pdf editing software (Bluebeam, Adobe, etc.)
