Location: Indianapolis, IN. Completed in Sept 2021, POINT's Indianapolis site is one of the largest state-of-the-art radiopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities in the world - almost as large as one and a half football fields.
Overview
Reporting to the Director, Environmental Health and Radiation Safety, the Security Team Lead will provide multi-site coordination and oversight of a contract security team to support personnel safety and facility security at neighboring radiochemical manufacturing facilities. The Security Team Lead will serve as a safety team contact and be knowledgeable in site emergency preparedness and response – with a focus on ensuring a contract security team is maintaining a satisfactory level of access control and communicating effectively to the safety team any potential breaches of security or other environmental health & safety observations/incidents which require follow-up. The Security Team Lead will perform supplemental facility rounds, monitor video surveillance, schedule contract security team hours / serve as primary point of contact with security service provider, perform security officer onboarding & training, oversee front desk / visitor check-in, and drive site safety/security improvement initiatives (with accompanying training and document development as necessary) on a daily basis – fostering the continuous improvement of existing security / personnel accountability processes, procedures, and controls. The position is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA and observes flexible hours Monday through Saturday, to maintain adequate oversight of multiple shifts of contract security officers. Some evening or additional weekend work may be required on a minimum basis.
Objectives
- Manage contract security team – including scheduling, onboarding, offboarding, training, and general oversight, as well as by serving as main contact with security service provider.
- Plan, examine, evaluate, and supervise security operations, including physical security assets and security personnel.
- Issue badges to new employees and contractors and support contractor onboarding program – such that no contractor or third-party vendor is unaccompanied or performing work without adequate notification and training as required.
- Provide training to site employees on the personnel / facility security programs and ensure site security policies and procedures reflect current and best practices.
- Perform supplemental security officer tasks daily, including monitoring surveillance and conducting facility rounds, following up on any findings with appropriate documentation, reporting, and action.
- Conduct internal audits of the site safety and security programs – including physical surveys of premises security, security equipment condition, and evaluations of vendor compliance – to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare performance reports (audit findings, investigations, reports of losses, violations, threats, identified risks, etc.) for management.
- Identify and resolve security and/or loss-related concerns or problems; conduct and/or direct internal investigations of any losses or violations of company policies and procedures.
- Familiarize with and support radioactive material security in alignment with the site Nuclear Regulatory Commission License.
- Participate in fire, tornado, and other evacuation / lockdown drills in coordination with the site safety and facilities teams – capturing improvement opportunities for follow-up.
- Coordinate the establishment of facility alert systems and plans for communicating to site personnel and emergency responders in a variety of situations.
- Facilitate security officer integration into the site first response team and contribute to the management and improvement of the emergency headcount program.
- Support multi-site risk mitigation efforts, championing employee awareness to promote a culture of honesty and responsibility.
