About this role:
Provide support to the Manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, optimize existing processes, and ensure that production goals are met. Monitor performance of equipment, machines, and tools, and correct equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields, or product quality issues. Build collaborative relationships through strong teamwork across the organization, interfacing with Quality, R&D, Supplier Quality, and other departments to solve problems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain a valid capacity model in co-operation with the line Supervisor and conduct adequate advance planning for required capital
- As Engineering process owner for the area: Identify key activities utilized in quality, service, & cost improvements in the Operations Engineering Cycle to meet key business objectives
- Lead technical improvement under the team’s VIP program, Continuous Improvement Program (GCIBs)
- Continuous monitoring and reporting of variables that feed into the business performance metrics (quality, output, and cost), and pro-active identification and resolution of issues around same
- Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports Boston Scientific's Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support
- Understanding of problem-solving from basic engineering principles, theories, and concepts
- Interact cross-functionally and with internal and external customers
- Ability to develop expert knowledge on Boston Scientific systems, MES, eCAPA, etc.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in packaging engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or biomedical engineering
- Experience (including internships and/or co-ops) in medical device industry or another highly-regulated industry
- Experience in packaging as part of the manufacturing process
- Experience with data analysis metrics including Pareto charts, Event charts, Yield/Scrap trends, SAP, MES, Windchill
- Strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence and collaborate
