Job Summary

The Payment Services team operates as a mission-critical payment processing unit, handling an impressive $4 billion in transactions each month. We are responsible for planning, designing, monitoring, and supporting new and existing REST microservices, stand-alone applications, ETLs and reports in a 24/7/365 global environment.

Job Description

ETL Development & Operations:

  • Design, build, and maintain production ETL workflows using Pentaho Data Integration (Spoon/Kitchen/Pan).

  • Implement scheduling, error handling, performance tuning, and support ETL conversion from legacy systems.

Microservices & API Development:

  • Develop secure, scalable Java Spring Boot microservices and RESTful APIs, documented via Swagger/OpenAPI.

  • Ensure containerization, CI/CD integration, and observability using Spring Boot Actuator, Elastic logs, Kibana, and AppDynamics.

Data Processing & Automation:

  • Write clean, tested Python 3 code for data processing and automation using pandas, requests, and deploy via Docker.

  • Author and maintain Concourse pipelines for automated CI/CD with reusable resources and robust failure handling.

Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure:

  • Design and operate secure, cost-efficient systems on AWS (S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch) using Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation/Terraform).

UI Development:

  • Build performant, component-driven UIs using React JS with modern hooks, state management, and accessibility best practices.

Payment Processing Expertise:

  • Implement solutions for card and ACH flows, refunds, chargebacks, acquirer/processor integrations, PCI-DSS compliance, and reconciliation processes.

Operations & Reliability:

  • Operate production systems with on-call responsibilities, incident response, monitoring, and continuous improvement for reliability and cost optimization.

Collaboration & Best Practices:

  • Work closely with QA, BAs, DBAs, and DevOps teams for robust, end-to-end delivery.

  • Participate in code reviews, enforce best practices via SonarQube, and contribute to Agile/Scrum workflows.

Must-Have Technical Skills

  • Pentaho Data Integration: Proven experience building and operating ETL workflows (Spoon/Kitchen/Pan), including scheduling, error handling, performance tuning, and ETL conversion.

  • Java (8+) & Spring Boot: Strong background in designing and developing secure, scalable microservices and RESTful APIs.

  • Python (3.x): Hands-on experience with data processing and automation using pandas/requests, with Docker-ready deployments.

  • Couchbase NoSQL: Practical experience with document-based databases and distributed data models.

  • Concourse CI/CD: Expertise in creating and maintaining pipelines for automated builds and deployments.

  • AWS Cloud Services: Experience with S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, and Infrastructure-as-Code (CloudFormation/Terraform).

  • React JS: Ability to build modern, component-driven UIs with hooks and state management.

  • Payment Processing Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with card and ACH flows, refunds, chargebacks, PCI-DSS compliance, and reconciliation processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GoLang Development: Experience building performant, concurrent services using Go.

  • Legacy ETL Migration Expertise: Familiarity with converting ETL workflows from other tools to Pentaho.
