<p><b>Job Description:</b></p><h3><b>Skills Required:</b></h3><ul><li><b>Technical Expertise:</b> Deep understanding of Mainframe z/OS architecture, operating systems, and 3rd party products.</li><li><b>Leadership Skills:</b> Ability to motivate, mentor and develop a remote team, distributed into several EU countries, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts.</li><li><b>Project Management:</b> Experience in planning, organizing, and executing projects, including setting deadlines and tracking progress.</li><li><b>Communication Skills:</b> Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical <span><span>audiences.  </span></span></li><li><b>Problem-Solving:</b> Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.</li><li><b>Communication Skills:</b> Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, management, and other stakeholders.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><ul><li><b>Software Installation:</b> Install MVS software into the repository, ensuring compatibility and adherence to installation guidelines.</li><li><b>Change Management:</b> Implement software changes following the required change process, including documentation and testing.</li><li><b>On-Call Support:</b> Provide 7x24 on-call support for z/OS systems, responding to incidents and resolving issues promptly.</li><li><b>I/O Configuration:</b> Create I/O configuration requests as needed to support system changes and performance optimization.</li><li><b>Maintenance IPL Preparation:</b> Execute MOM tickets to prepare for maintenance IPLs, ensuring system readiness and minimizing downtime.</li><li><b>Refresh Projects:</b> Complete z/OS builds and supporting changes for refresh projects, updating systems with the latest software and configurations.</li><li><b>Migration Projects:</b> Complete MVS tasks related to migration projects, including data transfer, system configuration, and application compatibility.</li><li><b>LPAR Decommissioning:</b> Complete MVS tasks for LPAR decommissions, ensuring a smooth transition of workloads and data.</li><li><b>LPAR Builds:</b> Complete MVS tasks for LPAR builds, configuring new logical partitions and allocating resources.</li><li><b>CPU Swap Projects:</b> Complete MVS tasks for CPU swap projects, managing the transition of workloads and resources between CPUs.</li><li><b>Software Zaps:</b> Install and implement software zaps to extend third-party software functionality.</li><li><b>System Recovery:</b> Complete MVS tasks for system recovery during disaster recovery drills, ensuring a timely and effective restoration of systems.</li><li><b>Complex Profiles:</b> Maintain and manage complex profiles, including security profiles, authorization profiles, and access controls.</li><li><b>Asset Center Records:</b> Maintain Asset Center installation records for MVS software, ensuring accurate tracking and management.</li><li><b>SMF Data:</b> Process SMF data to analyze system performance, identify issues, and generate reports.</li><li><b>System Exits:</b> Update and reassemble system exits to customize system behavior and functionality.</li><li><b>OMVS Segments and zFS Files:</b> Maintain OMVS segments and zFS files, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.</li><li><b>ProdAdmin Requests:</b> Complete MVS ProdAdmin requests, addressing system changes and configuration updates.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.</li><li>8+ years of experience in z/OS system programming.</li><li>Strong understanding of z/OS architecture, system programming techniques, and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>Proficiency in z/OS system commands and utilities.</li><li>Experience with system management tools and automation.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Certification in z/OS system programming or a related field.</li><li>Experience with specific z/OS subsystems (e.g., JES, IMS, CICS).</li><li>Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., REXX, COBOL).</li><li>Experience with cloud-based mainframe environments.</li></ul><h3></h3><h3><b>Documentation</b></h3><ul><li>Ensure that all relevant documentation is up-to-date and accurate.</li><li>Create and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, standards, and knowledge base articles.</li></ul><p></p><p><span>#LI-DNI</span></p><p></p><p></p><p><span>At DXC Technology, we believe strong connections and community are key to our success.
