The Manager of Business Intelligence (BI) is responsible for providing strategic and effective leadership in creating and managing the reporting infrastructure that supports business intelligence, data analytics, and complex and standard reporting solutions to all areas at Austin Community College.The Manager is the primary support person for the Data Warehouse, Reporting, Analysis, and Analytics team, and takes a senior role on tasks and mentoring/managing database and reporting analysts and database administrators on the team within the IT department.
In addition to creating business intelligence products, as well as custom reports and dashboards for customers and coworkers, this position is responsible for analyzing reporting system problems, programming fixes to existing reporting & analytics systems, assisting in the development of reporting scope specifications and developing new programs to automate reporting and analytics processes. This role consists of a wide variety of programming tasks, development, testing, maintenance, and implementation, as well as fully participating in new software and system projects assigned to the BI Department.

Description of Duties and TasksEssential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines personnel while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends hire and termination personnel actions for positions supervised.
- Manages strategic reporting and data projects, performs strategic analysis of reporting best practices, design reporting, and data process flows.
- Supervises Analysts performing high level reporting and analysis and provides direction and mentoring to team.
- Supervises Database Administrators.
- Prioritizes and delegates requests received by the Reporting and Analytics team.
- Leads and provides QC guidelines for the work of the Database Reporting and Analytics team.
