About the role
We Are Hiring
- Department: Material Management
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm or 4:00am - 12:30pm. No weekends or holidays.
- Hospital: UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham
- Location: Birmingham, AL
Receiving and shipping experience preferred. This job requires heavy lifting. Pallet jack experience is strongly preferred.
What You Will Do
Receive goods as ordered and delivered and process packing slips into departmental computer systems, while giving priority to rush items.
- Verify receipt of items against packing slip. Check in items against purchase orders.
- Enter inventory received into database for tracking.
- Process returned items for shipping and schedules pick up.
- Investigate and troubleshoot any received goods for issues/problems.
- Maintain receiving and dock area in a clean, safe and orderly condition. Raise awareness of dock security issues.
What You Will Need
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
