Practice Clinical Supervisor- Full-Time- Bronson Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists, Battle Creek/Marshall- Bronson Maternal Fetal Medicine, Kalamazoo, Bronson Urogynecology, Mattawan.The Practice Clinical Supervisor, under the direction of the Practice Manager, plans and organizes the clinical support staff and their functions for the practice. It is the responsibility of this position to support the providers in all clinical duties and to support the Practice Manager, providing continuity of leadership day to day. The Practice Clinical Supervisor acts as a role model, mentor, coach and resource person to the staff to ensure that all practice standards are maintained and to encourage a team environment. The Practice Clinical Supervisor is involved in assisting the Practice Manager in attracting, developing, maintaining, and retraining qualified staff members. Duties may include assisting with hiring, orientation, monitoring and evaluating performance, problem solving, employee counseling, staffing and payroll. The individual is responsible for resolving clinical issues concerning the day-to-day office operations of the practice. In additions to duties involving practice personnel, the Practice Clinical Supervisor serves as a contact for internal and external customers. He/she is responsible for creating an environment, which fosters positive customer service and meets all quality standards, implementing new and monitoring ongoing processes. This person is responsible for supporting and assisting in achieving practice and organizational goals. This role provides opportunity for leadership succession. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.
Diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or advanced degree licensure in related specialty area – (such as athletic trainer for orthopedic specialties, diabetic educator for endocrinology and dietician for bariatric specialty) and 3 years relevant and recent clinical experience
Previous experience in leading, and managing clinical staff preferred
Current RN license or advanced degree license for specialty specific areas as listed above in the state of Michigan in good standing.
BLS certification required by completion of core orientation
PALS or ALS is required for some RNs, unit specific
Digestive Health (Gastroenterology and Colon and Rectal Surgery):
Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred, must obtain within 8 years of hire
Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing for the state of Michigan
• Requires a skill level that encompasses all clinical aspects of practice management
• Demonstrated ability to work with and lead a variety of people
• Demonstrated independent decision making ability and able to work with customers in challenging situations
• Ability to read, interpret, and analyze data from various computer systems, reporting mechanisms, and equipment in order to set an appropriate plan of action
• Must possess organization and prioritization skills
• Knowledge and skill in proper charting methods including legible handwriting and the ability to prioritize
• Must have excellent communication skills (orally, face to face and/or by telephone, and in writing) and a positive customer relations orientation
• Ability to maintain positive rapport with all levels of leadership and providers
• Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality and may require the use of significant tact in order to handle sensitive matters
• Ability to give easily understood directions
• Requires a high level of self-motivation, strong initiative and effective communication skills
Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time.
