Job Description:
Are you a talented Mechanical Engineer looking to advance your career by working on challenging capital projects? Join our dynamic team on the East Coast and play a pivotal role in the construction and engineering of industrial installations. This position offers a unique growth opportunity where you will develop the skills necessary to manage progressively larger and more complex projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Project Management: Support or directly manage all construction and engineering activities, depending on the size and complexity of the project. Develop your project management skills under varying levels of supervision.
- Skills Development: Enhance your knowledge of various engineering disciplines and learn the methods and techniques used in process and infrastructure industrial installations.
- Contractual and Technical Expertise: Interpret contractual obligations and understand the technical aspects of typical process industrial construction contracts.
- Site Operations: Work on remediation, water/wastewater treatment plant sites, and operations and maintenance (O&M) projects. Manage overall operations of all systems to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Staff and Quality Management: Oversee staff productivity, quality control, and safety measures for operational sites. Ensure safe and efficient operations as an experienced operations manager.
- Regulatory Compliance: Serve as a company representative on regulatory issues, ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
- System Optimization: Gain a thorough understanding of treatment systems and operation manuals. Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to optimize system performance and troubleshoot equipment.
- Engineering Excellence: Independently develop and/or supervise the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining problems, establishing work scopes, preparing budgets and schedules, planning work, providing technical direction, and reporting work status.
- Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project and is able to operate in CAD on a limited basis
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 5+ years of related work experience. In addition, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required
- Experience in managing construction and engineering projects, preferably in industrial settings.
- Strong understanding of process industrial construction contracts and technical requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
