About the role

Amazon Robotics is look for an experienced software development engineer to develop fully automated robotic test workcells.
Successful candidates will join an elite engineering team, developing and implementing an architecture that enables automation in hardware validation workflows.
Key job responsibilities
In this role;
* You will develop a framework for rapidly creating and deploying robotic test workcells.
* You will work with your stakeholders to define requirements, identify common use-cases, and work toward the goal of reducing test overhead.
* You will define interfaces for engineers to interact with existing workcells, enabling a self-service model of creation, maintenance, and data collection.
* You will coordinate with cross-functional teams, ensuring that hardware components, software, and infrastructure provide the functionality required by the business.
* You will develop organized, extensible, and maintainable code, break down development needs into achievable tasks, and providing support to junior developers.
* You will continually refine best practices and documentation, driving continuous improvement, and developing strategies for expanded automation.
A day in the life
On a typical day, a workcell software developer might Dive Deep on a new workflow request, dramatically reducing the time required to execute a design-of-experiments. You might work cross-functionally with another development team, implementing a driver that enables control of a new hardware component.
You'll become a subject matter expert for Amazon Robotics test workcell software environments and hardware. You will be responsible for identifying future features and improvments, and developing metrics and alarming to reduce downtime.
You will provide operational support directly contributing to AR’s remarkable growth. Your success will be both measurable and visible.

Westborough, MA, USA
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
