Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This is not an exhaustive list of all duties/responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned)
Careful planning of meals to ensure residents’ food needs are being met, the food is of a high quality and appetizingly presented.
Assist with food inventory by monitoring proper food temperature, rotating and storing food properly.
Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils.
Operate large volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, or griddles.
Prepare and serve beverages such as coffee and fountain drinks.
Wash, cut, and prepare foods designated for cooking.
Requisition of food products, check inventory when delivered for accuracy and quality, ensure equipment is accurate.
Ensure newly ordered food inventory is date stocked and properly rotated to minimize waste.
Record supply usage for inventory and record purposes.
Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in the kitchen.
Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
Cover for Cook in their absence.
Ability to multi-task, manage time, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure.
Maintain standards of confidentiality of Lifeways’ clients and records.
Perform all work duties and activities in compliance with Lifeway’s policies/procedures, Oregon Administrative Rules, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
QualificationsQualifications
Required:
Valid Food Handlers Certification
Successful completion of a background check
Tuberculosis Screening
Preferred:
1-3 years’ experience in food service
