JOB SUMMARY

Great opportunity in a dynamic office with excellent potential for growth!  The Payroll Clerk is an administrative position that is responsible for maintaining filing of client and employee information, assisting with payroll invoicing, and following-up internally and with clients on key project related information. This requires analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, an aptitude for numbers, multi-tasking and quality client service skills. The ideal candidate is a “self-starter” with initiative and a pro-active approach to tasks, responsibilities and working with colleagues. Ability and willingness to learn new skills and tasks and discretion in handling company and client information is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain digital and physical filing systems of key client and employee information
  • Data entry
  • Assist with, and distribution of invoices
  • Provide support for office operations and general client service needs as directed
  • Assist with performing checks of the payroll system
  • Perform additional or special tasks or projects as requested
  • Assist with support for inquiries as needed
  • Attend trainings as instructed and learn payroll billing including wage and hour law and entertainment industry union contracts and applicable rules for payroll
  • Additional projects and tasks as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Basic office skills and abilities, knowledge of standard office equipment and software including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, and ability and willingness to learn new and/or proprietary applications as required
  • Highly collaborative – ability to interact with colleagues, team members, management, stakeholders, and other department staff in a professional office setting
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of government and entertainment industry requirements for payroll
  • Organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work well under pressure

CREDENTIALS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Minimum education requirement: High School Graduate
  • Minimum two years of college preferred

Special Work Conditions

Sedentary – Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Some positions may entail exerting up to 15 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force to lift, carry, push, or pull.

 

Compensation is commensurate with various factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, training, licensure, certifications, geographic cost of labor, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation range for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.The compensation range for this position is:$18.60—$18.
