Job Summary:
Responsible for the design and installation of electrical wire harnesses for FAA certified single engine aircraft. Work closely with other engineering disciplines to understand and capture wiring requirements and ensure compatibility with all surrounding elements. Work closely with production and product development groups within the organization to ensure wiring installations meet all safety, performance, and regulatory requirements.
Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
- Develop and maintain electrical wiring diagrams and harness architecture to meet aircraft system requirements (e.g. functionality, electrical loading and circuit protection, electromagnetic compatibility, and routing constraints)
- Design, drafting, and review of electrical wiring 3D models, assembly drawings, and installation drawings for aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including power distribution, RF, and data busses.
- Design of electrical equipment assemblies and enclosures
- Selection of electrical wiring assembly and installation components such as connectors, backshells, wire, insulation, and hardware.
- Understanding and application of EMI/RFI, signal shielding, and electrical bonding principles .

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
Experience in the following preferred;
- Aircraft wiring design
- Creo Cabling and Mentor Graphics Capital Logic and HarnessXC
- PTC Creo /Windchill PLM application
- Familiar with electrical wiring practices and standards such as FAA AC 43.13 and IPC/WHMA-A-620
- Wire harness fabrication and installation processes for aerospace applications
Demonstrated Proficiencies/Skills/Abilities:
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to read, write, and speak the English language
- Ability to work both independently and within a cross-functional team
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Access)
