This role has a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite) and we are considering candidates based in Portsmouth, NH, Boston, MA, Plano, TX and Indianapolis, IN.
Job Introduction:Our Cybersecurity Engineers form a diverse team of hands-on technical security professionals who are collectively responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and monitoring the overall security posture of the organization. They partner with teams across the company to continually optimize our security posture while maintaining a hyper-focus on the reliability and stability of our business environments.
You will have the opportunity to work with cutting edge security solutions that are located within Liberty Mutual Perimeter Security and Application Automation. The Cybersecurity Engineer - Firewall Management will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of security solutions, specifically focusing on Palo Alto and Juniper firewalls. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of cloud security in AWS and Azure environments, along with development and automation scripting skills to enhance our security posture. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying vulnerabilities, implementing security measures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
About the job:
- Configure, manage, and monitor Palo Alto and Juniper firewalls to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Implement and maintain firewall policies, rules, and access controls to protect the organization’s network.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of firewall configurations to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Configure and optimize threat prevention features, including intrusion prevention systems (IPS), anti-virus, and anti-malware profiles to ensure maximum effectiveness against emerging threats.
- Implement, manage and regularly update content filtering policies to control access to web content based on organizational security policies and compliance requirements.
- Configure and manage WildFire to analyze suspicious files and URLs for advanced malware detection.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of threat prevention configurations, policies, and procedures for compliance and audit purposes.
- Support the security of cloud environments, specifically AWS and Azure, by implementing best practices and security controls.
- Participate in the incident response process, including detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery. Which includes an on-call rotation.
- Conduct post-incident reviews to identify lessons learned and improve security processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address security incidents and vulnerabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on firewall management and cloud security.
- Hands-on experience with Palo Alto and Juniper firewalls is required.
- Familiarity with AWS and Azure security best practices and services.
- Proficient in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, Terraform and Bash.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security technologies, and threat landscape.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
