Are you looking to create capability and competencies in Operational Excellence (OpEx) for the leader in the Medical Technology industry?
As the Sr. Manager, Operational Excellence for Diabetes, you will be responsible for Operational Excellence to plan and execute process improvement objectives supporting the Diabetes Operating Unit. These objectives include specific operational performance targets as well as the development and training of employees to create a sustainable culture of continuous improvement.
You will partner closely with cross-functional leaders to drive strategic and sustaining improvement efforts. By developing the skills and competencies of our teams to deliver life-saving products, you will be at the forefront of Medtronic's mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.
As the Senior Manager of Operational Excellence, you will:
- Guide, deploy, and execute the Diabetes Operating System, our and tools that support our holistic
operational excellence program across the Diabetes Operating Unit
- Contribute to the overall Operations organizational goals by identifying organizational needs
required to achieve key performance indicators
- Develop and execute plans that deliver annual improvements in performance, process excellence,
and programmatic savings
- Partner with assigned Functional teams to eliminate waste, improve process efficiency, and lead
process and value stream transformation activities across prioritized workflows
- Develop process thinking, problem-solving skills, and a Value Stream mindset through Lean Six
Sigma teaching, coaching, and mentoring
- Facilitate strategic kaizen events with functional/cross-functional teams to deliver improved
performance
Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing, Business Operations, and/or operational excellence structures or Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, Business Operations, and/or operational excellence structures
Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent)
Nice to Have:
Practical experience in applying operational excellence methods in transactional environments with proven process improvement and cost savings success
Strong change management, coaching, and mentoring competency
Ability to influence change without direct authority
Ability to travel 50-75% of the time (varies based on initiatives)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including leading training courses in-person or virtually, with the ability to convey and communicate complex concepts clearly
Project management skills with good time management, client relationship management, conflict resolution, training facilitation, and administrative skills
Solid understanding of Engineering, Project Management, and financial acumen with proven knowledge and experience in integrating continuous improvement
Working Conditions: Travel typically 50% to 75% but varies based on initiatives.
