ABOUT THE ROLE
ALX Ventures is building the next generation of entrepreneurial talent across Africa. We equip ambitious founders, freelancers, and future builders with the tools, coaching, and community they need to launch impactful ventures. As Senior Program Manager, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of our three core programs: the Founder Academy, Freelancer Academy, and Incubator.
You will directly manage the Program Managers for each of these verticals, ensuring operational excellence, learner success, and programmatic impact. You may also play a more hands-on role with the Incubator, shaping our approach to founder selection, coaching, and venture support. This is a senior leadership role at the heart of ALX Ventures’ mission, requiring strong execution, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep commitment to the success of our entrepreneurs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Blueprint
- Lead the design and continuous refinement of the operational blueprint for delivering the Founder Academy, Freelancer Academy, and Incubator at scale.
- Oversee the implementation of this blueprint across programs and adapt based on feedback, data insights, and evolving business needs.
Stakeholder Coordination and Systems Management
- Serve as the main point of contact for internal stakeholders (e.g. Selection, Learning Design, Engineering, Product, Data, Marketing, City Teams) to ensure coordination and alignment across the entire learner journey.
- Proactively identify and remove bottlenecks or silos across the academies, while cascading learnings to senior leadership and the wider team.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure the LMS, Portal, and communication tools are optimized and analytics-ready to support effective learner engagement and program management.
Learner Experience and Support Ecosystem
- Shape and implement a cohesive end-to-end learner experience across all three academies, incorporating mental health support, safeguarding, community engagement, mentorship, and career services.
- Serve as the decision-maker in complex learner situations (e.g., eligibility issues, learner misconduct), ensuring alignment with our learner code of conduct and values.
- Continuously refine learner-facing policies and touchpoints based on learner feedback and outcome tracking.
Program Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Own the program calendar and oversee cohort scheduling and rollouts, working closely with PMs and cross-functional teams to deliver consistent experiences.
- Ensure the smooth delivery of concurrent program cohorts by supporting PMs in operational planning, execution, and troubleshooting.
- Establish collaborative relationships with teams such as Curriculum, Selection, City Teams, Marketing, and Talent Experience to ensure programs are aligned and high-performing.
- Liaise with external stakeholders (e.g., exam providers, credentialing bodies) to manage resources like licenses and certifications, particularly for technical or partner-supported tracks.
