Department of Revenue is recruiting for multiple Seasonal Mail Processing Clerk (Office Assistant 2) positions. We are looking for talented, detail-oriented individuals to join our Information Technology Services Division in the Mail Processing Unit. These positions are headquartered in our Salem office and required to work on site.
These are part-time, seasonal, SEIU represented positions. These positions typically work an eight-hour day shift, Monday - Friday. Working hours are 6:30 AM -3:00 PM. However, due to workload, day shifts may work less than eight hours a day or 40 hours a week.
There are multiple seasonal positions available. This season runs from March 9, 2026, to May 1, 2026.
In order to be considered for Department of Revenue recruitments, you must reside within the state of Oregon. Current Revenue employees who live outside of Oregon may apply and will be considered.
*Note: Effective Feb. 1, 2026, the compensation plan for this position will be increased to reflect a Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA) of 2.5%. The salary listed in this posting does not reflect the COLA.
What You Will Be Doing
Below is a sampling of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties.
Prepare documents to ensure compatibility with specialized scanners. Document prep work includes opening mail, date stamping, removing clips and staples, ensuring documents are in order, and adding separator sheets where necessary.
Open, sequence, and sort all types of mail with or without cash according to established procedures.
Assist in keeping all sections neat, organized, and desk supplies stocked.
Assist in trouble shooting, machine maintenance, seeking advice when required.
Prioritize, read, decipher, sort, and route or transport cash and noncash items to other units.
Scan unclaimed mail received.

This Is What You Need To Qualify
One year of basic office support experience such as filing, sorting mail, or using office equipment; OR
An equivalent combination of experience and completion of college coursework or training in a general office occupation.
