About the role

CSA has an immediate opening for a ServiceNow/JavaScript Developer who will support our Navy client at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, VA. This position will require onsite work three (3) days per week; additional onsite work may be required in the future.
The successful candidate will be responsible to lead a small, experienced team in supporting the full software development lifecycle within an Agile environment for NNSYs ServiceNow enterprise platforms. You will work closely with IT department leads to meet the current and future needs of the client. Responsibilities

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle: Analysis, Design, Coding, Testing, Training and Operations Support
  • Capture business and technical requirements, standardization needs, and build them into the design
  • Work closely with IT Support and Technical teams to ensure that administration and implementation are conducted per policy, procedures and best practices
  • Work closely with clients, project managers and systems management team to build long-term business relationships through engagement delivery on site as well as remotely
  • Use technical and industry knowledge to understand complex client issues, clearly define scope of work and provide reasonable timeline estimates
  • Develop and implement technical solutions, and perform component integration tests
  • Perform configuration, integration, custom programming, and other hands-on technical activities
  • Schedule and perform regular demonstrations and capture client and customer feedback to inform enhancements and updates
  • Implement ServiceNow customizations including UI Policies, UI Actions, Business Rules, Client Scripts, workflow administration, and data import and export
  • Maintain effective personal digital workspace organization (i.e. MS Teams), work-process organization and best practice backup habits
  • Demonstrate effective team collaboration skills, including ability to listen and learn from others and the ability to communicate ideas and share experience
  • Demonstrate initiative-based work ethic and can-do attitude to address everyday issues and ensure ongoing productivity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field; four (4) additional years of experience may be considered in place of a degree
  • Two (2) or more years of UI/frontend application development experience utilizing JavaScript HTML, CSS
  • Active DOD Secret clearance required
  • Experience working with relational databases using SQL
  • Experience managing code and projects with GitHub, JIRA, Microsoft Planner, etc.
  • Agile development experience and ability to commit to and self-manage tasks required for each sprint
  • Understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes
  • Ability to establish project plans, regularly monitor and track progress on work projects, and ensure appropriate communications with project partners
  • Ability to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot system applications
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are necessary to communicate intricate job-related processes to internal and external customers
  • Qualifying 8570 Baseline Certification for IAT Level II (e.g. CompTIA Security+); a degree may be permitted in lieu of certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior leadership experience
  • Knowledge of and/or hands-on experience with ServiceNow including the following: UI Policies, UI Actions, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Workflow Administration, data import/export
  • Experience with ServiceNow's core platform, including ITSM (preferred), Flow Designer, Form Designer, Catalog Item Designer, and familiarity with additional ServiceNow licenses including HAM, SAM, SPM, HRSD, ITOM, or App Engine
