Key Position Details:

This role includes direct clinical oversight of mental healthcare providers and operational work.

Hybrid - Clinical location to be determined, various options available.

Job Description:

Accountable for strategic specialty program development and mental health provider practice across multiple primary care health sites. Responsible for creating process for specialty provider recruiting, on-boarding, transitions, staffing and advancing team based care. Establishes process for access, care coordination, technology and patient experience. Collaborates with psychology and psychiatry clinical leaders as well as Mental Health and Addiction operational leadership to advance program goals.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, motivate and develop providers and staff.
    • Collaborate with partners to provide communication and engage providers in key initiatives.
    • Recruit, select and onboard providers and leaders.
    • Design and implement key initiatives.
    • Manage staff performance: set expectations, performance reviews, coaching, development, recognition and disciplinary action.
    • Demonstrate understanding of daily functions of staff to ensure service delivery.
    • Ensure staff have necessary resources to provide services.
    • Create processes to validate training for staff that ensure in-scope practice, top of license practice.
    • Identify and communicate needs or changes that impact the work and escalate when necessary.
    • Provider leadership for continuous quality improvement by using multiple change management methodologies.
    • Share accountability for quality goals and objectives with clinical partners.
  • Deliver exceptional patient experiences though daily operations and clinical management.
    • Understand and act on patient experience data.
    • Share patient experience data and create plan for improve results.
    • Ensure high quality clinical care by monitoring clinical outcomes and documentation.
    • Lead providers in engaging in evidenced based best practices for clinical care.
    • Partner with Primary Care leadership at sites and broadly to ensure care model of Mental Health Consultants is aligned with Primary Care needs.
    • Round on staff, providers and patients.
    • Empower and train managers and providers to resolve patient concerns and create a mindset of service recovery.
  • Financial accountability.
    • Accountable for management of financials.
    • Manage operating expenses and productivity MHC performance.
    • Ensure revenue cycle management workflows are in place and maintained.
  • Lead safety, risk and compliance.
    • Ensure adherence to safety, risk and compliance requirements.


Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree required, preferably in Social Work or Psychology
  • 2+ years healthcare experience required, preferably in mental health field
  • 2+ years of healthcare leadership


Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker - MN Board of Social Work strongly preferred OR
  • Licensed Psychologist - MN Board of Psychology strongly preferred
  • Experience in provision of short-term mental healthcare, in a primary care setting preferred


Physical Demands

  • Light Work: Lifting weight, up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $55.24 to $76.43 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
