Production Technician - Carlsbad, CA

Summary: 

Perform the measuring process, blocking operation and dismount process for contact lens manufacturing.

Essential and Non-Essential Responsibilities: 

• Use compressed air to blow off debris from lathed part.
• Measure parts and record measured information on base of cup.
• Monitor wax reservoir for all blockers to ensure sufficient wax is present.
• Block measured parts using arbors and automated blocking system.
• Perform dry-surface inspection of measured parts. 
• Perform basic autoloaders operations (filling vibratory bowl with parts, accounting of parts after SPC, cleaning autoloaders, change vacuum bags).
• Prepare dismounting and hydration solution.
• Dismount parts in ultra-sonic tank
• Prepare lenses for hydration.
• Must follow all manufacturing SOPs, GDocP, and GMP guidelines.
• Fill out daily production logs and DHR’s.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
