Senior Scientist, Translational - Onsite Contract Position - 3days/wk

Jasper is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing briquilimab, a novel antibody targeting c-Kit (CD117) as a therapeutic for chronic mast and stem cell diseases. Jasper is currently conducting clinical studies of briquilimab as a treatment in patients with CSU or with CIndU and is initiating a clinical study in patients with asthma. Briquilimab is also currently in clinical studies as a treatment for patients with LR-MDS and as a conditioning agent for cell therapies for rare diseases. To date, briquilimab has a demonstrated efficacy and safety profile in more than 160 dosed participants and healthy volunteers, with clinical outcomes in CIndU, and as a conditioning agent in severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), Fanconi anemia (FA), and sickle cell disease (SCD).

Summary

• Jasper is seeking a talented and motivated Translational Scientist. This role will be an integral part of the Research and Translational team, contributing to the Mast cell diseases clinical programs. This role will report to the Executive Director of Biology and Translational Research. 

Responsibilities

• Represent translational research team at the project team meeting and serve as an interface among cross-functional teams for Mast cell diseases related clinical programs.
• Analyze and interpret clinical biomarkers/exploratory endpoints data and contribute to bioanalytical assay development and validation
• Present data to the cross-functional meetings and translating findings into actionable insights for therapeutic development
• Bridge the preclinical research findings and their clinical implementation
• Manage and oversee CROs and partners responsible for specialty lab/exploratory endpoints assessments, ensuring high-quality execution of assays and timely data reporting.
• Contribute to clinical protocol design by selecting biomarkers, defining appropriate collection timepoints and providing robust scientific rationale
• Identify, evaluate and initiate contracts with CROs for biomarkers, bioanalytical assays development
• Provide scientific and technical expertise for developing Immunogenicity assays and/or other safety/efficacy assays to support the clinical programs
• Collaborate cross-functionally with clinical development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Data Management to drive trials execution

Requirements

• PhD in Immunology, Biological Sciences or a related field and 2+ years relevant post PhD experience; or MS and 6+ years’ experience; or BS and 8+ years’ experience
• Strong experience in biomarker discovery, and translational research methodologies
• Experience with Biologics and/or Mast cells related diseases
• Strong ability to analyses and interpret clinical biomarkers data
• Experience with PK/ADA or any bioanalytic assay development and validation is a plus
• Ability to work with and oversee CRO and vendors
• Ability to work well in a highly collaborative team environment, coordinate tasks across multiple projects to meet deadlines, and be accountable
• Entrepreneurial and comfortable learning new skills and knowledge, and working on new projects as they arise
