Position Title: Junior Accountant

Reports To: Local Accounting Manager

Status: Exempt

Job Type: Full Time

Supervises: N/A

Location: Riverside


The Junior Accountant is responsible for managing various financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes

 

Responsibilities:

· Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including timely processing and recording of invoices, payments, and receipts.

· Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records.

· Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

· Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to financial transactions.

· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.

· Help in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

· Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounting procedures and internal controls.

· Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and ensure compliance.

· Provide support during audits and collaborate with auditors as needed.

· Perform other ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as assigned.

· Superior attention to detail and accuracy.

· Ability to handle multiple projects at once, switching between various tasks quickly.

· Strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices

· Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

 

Knowledge, Skill & Other Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related field; preferred

· Proven experience as an Accounting Specialist or similar role

· Strong knowledge of accounts receivable principles and best practices

· Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.

· Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with relevant accounting regulations and standards.

· Experience with ERP systems; a plus

· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
