A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Please note that although candidate will be remote, the ideal candidate would live in the Northeast Illinois/Chicago suburb areas.

You'll be directly responsible for the promotion of Tandem Diabetes products and services within your territory in partnership with a Clinical Diabetes Sales Specialist.  Your goal will to be ensure the territory meets and exceeds company sales goals as established by management.  You'll do this by leading strategic business planning, identifying potential customers, establishing, and developing business relationships to facilitate the sale of Tandem products and services.  Additionally, you'll use your industry sales experience to provide account sales support and continuing education to patients, physicians, and their Clinical Educators on the technical use of insulin pump therapy.

A Territory Manager with Tandem also:

  • Ensures the territory meets or exceeds company goals as established by management
  • Creatively and resourcefully uses available tools and resources to identify sales leads and gather the information required to determine if prospecting criteria have been satisfied.
  • Provides information in a professional manner to various health care professionals (MDs, DOs, RNs, CDEs, RPhs, etc.) in order to convince them to recommend/prescribe Tandem products/services when indicated in the course of appropriate therapy.
  • Creates value for the health care professionals by differentiating Tandem Diabetes Care products and services.
  • Educates prospects/customers regarding industry/healthcare trends, web-based solutions, Tandem products, services and outcomes, and/or other population health management issues.
  • Establishes and maintains excellent professional relationships with health care professionals to support the sale of Tandem Diabetes products /services.
  • Effectively promotes Tandem’s unique market position, differentiation from competitors.
  • Leads strategic business planning (i.e. forecasting and developing short term & long term goals and objectives) for assigned Territory.
  • Provides products/services information directly to the consumer/end user via health fairs, conventions or in conjunction with promotions.
  • Attends and participates in all corporate sales training, meetings and assigned conventions and symposia.
  • Keeps records updated in the customer relationship management software (CRM), for all business dealings within assigned territory.
  • Collaborates with Customer Sales Support Specialists to identify and address pre and post sales order issues, and sales lead inquiries.
  • Maintains all assigned company property, equipment, records, selling aids and samples in a manner consistent with company policies.
  • Establishes and maintains a territory call cycle that will minimize administrative time and maximize time and effort spent with customers.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly sales reports as requested by Sales Management within required deadlines.
  • Maintains expenses within established corporate guidelines and submits expense reports on a timely basis; exhibits personal integrity in dealing with all allowable business expenditures.
  • Ensures work is performed in compliance with company policies including Privacy/HIPAA and other regulatory, legal, and safety requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA from a four-year college or university plus 3 years of related industry sales experience; preferably in one or more of the following areas: diabetes, endocrinology, insulin infusion pumps, and managed care.  Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Ability to travel at least 80% in your assigned territory; must maintain a valid driver's license and required auto insurance as well as good driving record, per company policy.
