This Senior Safety Specialist will be responsible for Workplace Health Safety (WHS) across our Fulfillment and CARE facilities. The primary purpose of the Senior Safety Specialist is to act as a liaison to implement WHS processes, procedures, as well as audit the overall safety at each site ensuring we are compliant with local and state laws.

- Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics to report to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems
- Support management efforts to ensure compliance with all program expectations and applicable federal and state laws
- Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed and new equipment introductions
- Responsible for recommending appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomics
- Work to make sure safe work premises are provided and maintained
- Provide safety equipment where required
- Demonstrate to workers how to fulfill their duties safely
- Implement a WHS induction for all new staff
- Take reasonable steps to avoid workplace injuries
- Ensure workers’ compensation insurance for employees
Furthermore, the Senior Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring workers are obligated to look after the health and safety of themselves and colleagues by:
- Complying with health and safety instructions given
- Using any personal protective equipment that has been provided to them
- Not interfering or misusing any equipment provided for their workplace’s health and safety
- Not wilfully placing themselves or anyone else at risk
A Bit About You:
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with multiple teams in multiple geographical locations
- Ability to work in a physical site and remote environment.
- Degree, certification, and/or experience in the medical or technical field.
- Ability to travel to pharmacy sites if needed.
Additional Physical Job Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing and bending.
- Exposed to a normal office environment.
- Lift, carry, and /or push/pull various items (bags, boxes, carts, etc.) while using proper technique.
- Lift up to 35lbs. from floor to chest level, and lift and carry up to 35 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
- Sit or stand up a majority of work days (8-10 hours) or sit for long periods of time depending on the needs of the pharmacy operation and call center.
- Operate all equipment necessary to do the job.
- See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
- Read English, comprehend, and follow simple oral and written instructions. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects.
- Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
- See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
- Repeat the same movements.
- Bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
- Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.
Salary:
Base SF/NYC: $126,000 to $148,000*
*Please note this range is specific to employees in the market listed on this posting. Salary ranges for remote candidates working outside of this market can be subject to regionalized compensation based on their respective work location.
