About the role

Weatherford is seeking an experienced and driven Technical Sales Manager to join our Oil & Energy team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive product knowledge and operational expertise to strategically sell our cutting-edge tools, technologies, and services. As a key member of our sales force, you will proactively engage with clients, providing exceptional technical guidance and fostering strong relationships to drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of technical or operational experience in the Oil & Energy industry, preferably with Weatherford
  • At least 6 years of proven success in sales roles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to quickly acquire comprehensive knowledge of Weatherford's diverse product and service offerings
  • Willingness to travel domestically and potentially internationally up to 10-25% of the time

Education

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Weatherford's policies, regulations, and industry best practices
  • Prioritize quality, health, safety, security, and environmental protection in all operations, exceeding customer expectations
  • Effectively utilize available technologies (SFDC.com, XAIT-Porter) to streamline sales processes
  • Advise clients on Weatherford's participation in sales opportunities and discuss technical specifications
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer issues and maintain service quality
  • Identify and mitigate business risks through strategic planning with line managers
  • Develop and present compelling solutions to customers through formal pitches, presentations, and proposals
  • Relay competitive intelligence to stakeholders and identify opportunities for new products and services
  • Foster strong customer relationships through on-site visits and effective communication
  • Achieve annual revenue targets through strategic sales planning and growth strategies
  • Continuously improve margin performance through skilled negotiation and upselling
  • Support and coordinate technical training for the internal sales community
  • Demonstrate leadership, ethical behavior, and adherence to Weatherford's standards at all times

Compensation

  • · Weatherford offers a competitive compensation package, including a base salary and performance-based incentives, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this role is $150-$185k/annually.

Financial

  • Responsible for the generation of annual revenue targets through the creation and conversion of sales plans including growth strategies
  • Take relevant actions to identify and address revenue ‘gaps’ for the year to ensure target achievement
  • Assists Sales Director with formulation of sales strategies and annual budget and as a minimum undertakes quarterly reviews of their account plans with the SD
  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure
  • Evaluates sales via the Technical Sales Manager and identifies ‘pull-through’ opportunities whenever possible

People and Development

  • Promotes the highest possible values, principles and the Weatherford culture to their team
  • Supports cohesion and common purpose in a changing environment to all sales related personnel
  • Supports and coordinates the [technical PL] education of internal sales community
  • Responsible for participating in the sales training offerings in order to gain cross-product line knowledge
  • Undertakes all necessary sales training including but not limited to; Product Line training, Financial Training, Negotiations training and Customer Service training
  • Promotes the highest possible values, principles, and the Weatherford culture to their team
  • Employees have a responsibility for developing their own careers within the Company including completing all necessary function, compliance & business standards training to enhance their knowledge, skills and experience
  • Employees should engage on a regular basis with their line manager to discuss their personal performance, objectives and opportunities to enhance their skills and experience to support their career potential
