Job Summary:

As a Senior MongoDB Database Administrator (E Band), you will be a key player in redefining protection and retirement solutions to enhance our customers' lives. This role demands a seasoned professional with advanced project and automation skills, coupled with exceptional communication abilities. The successful candidate will architect database structures for medium to large projects, contribute to day-to-day operational management of Database Technologies, and play a pivotal role in software maintenance lifecycle management. Collaboration, innovation, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Collaborate in managing and championing emerging database technologies, with a concentration in MongoDB.
•    Liaise with and educate business areas on data design, enterprise strategy, and data enablement for NoSQL databases.
•    Lead incident, security, and performance analysis.
•    Streamline operations and automate tasks through scripting and modern technologies.
•    Support initiatives in Agile frameworks across multiple business units.
•    Analyze database workloads, identify issues, and design solutions using monitoring and alerting tools.
•    Educate and mentor other database administrators.

Job Qualifications

Essential Criteria:
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
•    Minimum of 8+ years of experience as a data professional.
•    Knowledge across multiple data store platforms (MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, Redis, SQL Server).
•    Experience working on cross-functional teams.


Technical Requirements 
•    Proven experience evaluating and implementing new technologies.
•    In-depth familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, or Snowflake).
•    Proficiency with Cloud providers, particularly AWS, and expertise in open-source automation software.
•    Mastery of technologies like GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation, Python, Kafka, Spark, Kubernetes, Docker.
•    Proficient programming skills with Unix


Preferred Criteria:
•    Experience evaluating and implementing new technologies
•    Experience with one or more of the following NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis or Snowflake
•    Experience with Cloud providers (particularly AWS) and open source automation software.
•    Experience with one or more of the following technologies: GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation, Python, Kafka, Spark, Kubernetes, Docker.
•    Experience with a programming framework like Unix Shell, Power Shell, Python, Java, NodeJS, etc.
•    Experience with 20+ TB databases
•    Familiarity with Agile, Pivotal Cloud Foundry and continuous delivery environments
•    Familiarity with security standards and procedures like encryption, redaction and tokenization
•    Familiarity with the P&C insurance industry. 
•    Familiarity with Project Management concepts and methodologies.
