Accounting Assistant

This role is perfect for someone who loves clean ledgers, smooth closes, and solving small problems before they become big ones.

What You’ll Do:

• Code all Accounts Payable across the portfolio with speed and accuracy
• Process Deposit Accounting (security deposit refunds) and ensure entries flow correctly through ledgers
• Draft and finalize variance comments portfolio-wide with clear, concise language
• Assist with determining accruals and reclasses as part of the monthly close
• Triage and troubleshoot ledger issues and charge clean-up tasks
• Support and help build the internal Elise AI knowledge base with accounting FAQs and SOPs
• Partner with the accounting team on ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

• Detail-oriented with a strong eye for catching inconsistencies or errors
• A self-starter who can figure things out, stay organized, and keep tasks moving without constant direction
• Strong problem-solving skills and a natural sense of ownership over work
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks
• Strong communication skills, especially when clarifying issues or explaining discrepancies
• Team player who works well with others and contributes to a collaborative, solution-focused environment
• Previous experience in property management accounting or Yardi is a plus (but not required)
