Job Description
MAKE UP FOR EVER is looking for an Assistant Store Manager. Based in New York and reporting to the Boutique Manager, Pro Studio, this person is responsible for assisting the Boutique Manager with managing and providing leadership to the MAKE UP FOR EVER Tribe. The Assistant Store Manager will also support facilitation, new account outreach – front face clienteling, event operations, community outreach, studio aesthetic maintenance, and loss prevention.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for ensuring the highest level of customer service throughout the Boutique with the ability to cater to both Pro and Public Consumers.
- Serve as a role model and leader to their Tribe and must be able to solve problems, make informed decisions, manage the workforce and their time wisely in order to achieve maximum results.
SALES
- Educate and inspire customers on our brand story, products, services, and experiences.
- Facilitation for artistry masterclasses with schools, consumers and production
- Manage and lead team of Resident Make Up Artists and is responsible for driving sales of MAKE UP FOR EVER within the Boutique.
- Manages Resident Make Up Artists activity to ensure all productivity standards are met by establishing strong teamwork and achievement of sales goals.
- Monitors and analyzes daily, weekly and monthly sales trends and results then reacts appropriately and communicates to appropriate staff.
- Conducts spot coaching and monitors performance of all MAKE UP FOR EVER Boutique staff.
- Ensures that consistent brand communication, high level of customer service, and product information is provided to all MAKE UP FOR EVER customers.
- Grows and maintains FOR YOU FOR EVER client outreach program in collaboration with Boutique Tribe.
- Negotiates and executes special events in partnership with the MAKE UP FOR EVER Corporate team.
- Reaches out to businesses to drive traffic into stores with grassroots events and outreach initiatives.
- Partners with Boutique Manager on tribe recruitment and training.
- Strategically plans quarterly events calendar in partnership with Boutique Manager.
OPERATIONS
- Manage event calendar and scheduling
- Manage pre and post event set ups
- Ensures that MAKE UP FOR EVER’s merchandising standards are maintained at all times. This includes maintaining standards of cleanliness and organization of the store, visual displays, product assortment, and drawers.
- Supports Boutique Manager to oversee the replenishment process and inventory control
- Works in partnership with the Boutique Manager in the maintenance, set up and review of MAKE UP FOR EVER’s animation updates.
- Adheres to and oversees compliance of Company policies and standards.
- Partners with Boutique Manager to contribute to corporate social networking programs through ongoing communication with New York Office and the PR Dept.
- Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by Boutique Manager and Make Up For Ever Corporate office.
- Partners with Boutique Manager on the scheduling of staff to ensure coverage.
Qualifications
Who You Are:
- High school diploma required
- 3 + years of retail store management, preferably in a cosmetics product setting, in a free-standing store
- Ability to work a full-time schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Availability to work the hours necessary to open and/or close the store
- Ability to maintain presence on selling floor for long periods as needed
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, and to move and handle boxes of merchandise up to 50 lbs. as well as, fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and climbing ladders
- Willingness to adhere to all company policies, procedures, regulations, and standards
- Availability to travel, as needed
