The Opportunity:
As the Marketing and Communications Coordinator you will be responsible for coordinating and executing the tactical elements of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine marketing and communications plan including earned, owned and paid media elements, as well as providing marketing administrative support.
With a focus on email marketing and social media management, you will be involved with designing, writing, and editing email newsletters and campaigns, managing contacts within the college CRM, and creating social media content. Additionally, you will track KPIs and metrics, providing analysis reports for email and social media communications. In this role, you will be central to college communications and involved with daily collaboration across the college, as well as providing marketing administrative support.
This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $3,317 to $4,410 | Step A - M | Range #38 | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. Step M is typically a longevity step.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, humanities, public relations, or related field; or four years of writing/editing/public relations experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated proficiency in writing, editing, communication and proofreading.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional evenings and weekends.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc).
Experience with social media management such as content development, interaction and/or content scheduling using platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, lnstagram, Linkedln, TikTok and YouTube.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working in an educational institution.
Experience creating and distributing email campaigns.
Project management experience including initiating and completing projects independently and with specific deadlines.
Experience working in a complex, multi-department setting.
Experience working with web analytics, including search engine optimization, performance tracking, and keyword identification and promotion.
Demonstrated ability to utilize creativity and innovation in content creation and campaign development.
