Job Description

SquareTrade is looking for Engineering interns for the Data Engineering, CAPPS Engineering, and MINT (Merchant Integration) Engineering teams.  The SquareTrade Engineering team believes that data is the key to decision-making. We want to use data insights to look for new opportunities and help improve our award-winning service to our customers.​​​​​​

• You will hit the ground running and have an opportunity to create real-world business solutions
• You will be embedded as a member of an engineering team, working on a summer project that impacts our product and technology roadmap. 
• These projects are appropriately scoped, will provide meaningful business value, and will be presented to senior executives at the end of your internship
• Partner with your manager and mentors to review work, discuss goals and experience while ensuring defined projects are on target for completion
• Work with a cross-functional team and understand how software is developed and maintained at scale
• Interns will work full-time 40 hours per week during the 10-week program
• The internship will be virtual

Qualifications

• Majoring in Computer Science or a related Engineering or Math discipline
• Excellent analytical and Mathematical skills
• Relevant coursework in a modern programming language like Java (or similar), We like to use JavaScript, Java, Python and some other languages too
• Experienced with algorithms and software design
• Candidate must be currently enrolled in a US based college or university degree program and also be enrolled in a US based college or university degree program for the Fall 2024 semester
• Candidate must be a rising junior or rising senior
• Must be at least 18 years old 
• Must have a minimum GPA of 2.7
• Must be available to start on internship cohort start date (June 5) and complete ten week program in the US
• Previous work/volunteer experience or relevant coursework in identified area(s) of interest
• Can work in the US without employment sponsorship

• Demonstrated passion for technology, whether you worked at another tech company, worked on a side project you were passionate about, or joined your school tech club
• Ability to work in group settings and/or independently
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task several projects
• Demonstrates problem-solving skills
• Demonstrates creativity and innovation

(California Only) Pursuant to applicable law, SquareTrade estimates the possible base pay for this role, if hired in California, to be within the following range: $24-$30 per hour.
