Job Description:
Accenture Federal Services’ National Security Portfolio (NSP) is seeking a highly motivated Junior Technical Writer to support the integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of a Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) system to provide maritime domain awareness in Northern Africa. The system will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and disseminating security information to enhance the security and force protection of maritime boundaries, natural resources, and strategic ports. The ideal candidate will work as part of an integrated team based in greater Boston, Massachusetts, to develop and maintain the system and software documentation pertaining to system configuration, operations, security, and maintenance.
The Work:
- Plan, write, and maintain all associated C4ISR system, sensor, and software manuals
- Maintain policy document frameworks, consolidate technical input and analysis, and create logical understandable system reports
- Create documents based on pertinent system technical drawings, technical information, consultations with the technical personnel, and other available sources
- Review system, sensor, and software documentation for content and grammatical quality and consistency
- Work with the program software development team to document all new software capability and fixes
- Assist the Lead Technical Writer with meeting all program documentation deliverables and ensuring the proper documentation priorities are being executed
Here's what you need:
- A Bachelor of Science in computer science, computer engineering, and/or information systems, or a Bachelor of Arts in English, or 4 years demonstrated experience in producing and/or editing technical documents for all aspects of software and systems engineering
- 4 years combined experience in 3 or more of the following:
- Producing technical documentation and document templates utilizing various word processing tools (i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Working with document standards for such technical documents as a CONOP and Software Requirements Specification
- Collaborating with web developers to accomplish web publishing
- Editing documents for document structure, logic flow, and writing for nontechnical audiences. o Interpreting engineering and maintenance drawings
- Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations
Security Clearance:
- Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York, or Washington State as set forth below and information on benefits offered is here.
Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role:
California: $73,900 - $132,100
Colorado: $73,900 - $114,000
New York: $68,400 - $132,100
Washington: $78,600 - $121,500
